Germany has a lot of nice places to discover. Welcome to Dresden - Florence on the Elba. In the middle of Saxony capital is a huge park with a easy name 'Großer Garten' -' Big garden. The reputation and popularity of the event is proven each year by nearly half a million festival visitors. If you like Jazz, Bluse, Boogie and Swing, do not miss it - 39th International Dixieland Festival Dresden 2009 (12 - 17 May 2009).

Carola lake is a favorit place in Dresden, it is situated in the southeast end invites for a boat trip. Carola Castle offers a selection of great cake in its beer garden witch ia also perfect place for recreation. Nearly there is Dresden's zoo with a famous ape and elephant house.

Dresden also posses amusing ses the oldest fleet of paddle wheelers in the world. That's why a ride on the Elbe is a must. You embark in the heart of the city and head for Schloss Pilintz, constructed in 1720 and based on Chinese models. And if you plans to stay longer in Dresden you should take a ride with the so-coled 'Lößnitzdackel' to Moritzburg Castle, it is historic stream train that takes you from Radebeul to the baroque Moritzburg Castle within only 30 minutes.

The 'Saxon Folk Art Museum with Puppet Theatre Collection' offers unique presentation of the folk art of Saxony is displayed within the charming setting of the Jägerhof, comprising enchanting carvings and candle pyramids, printed linen, splendid costumes and superb laces as well as painted furniture and historic toys. The Puppet Theatre Collection shows the world of historic puppetry on the upper floor. Try it, students pay only 2€ for entrance.

And you have mor highlights this summer: Germany's most beautiful open air cinema with view of the Dresden skyline also offers Elbe Bank Film Nights from 25 June to 23 August. 18 Juli is Dresden Palaces Night, a night of art, culture and emotions on the 'balcony of Dresden' -  in and around three unique palaces Albrechtsberg Palace, Lingner Palace and Eckberg Palace , from 31 October to 15 November is Dresden Jazz Days - international jazz festival with first-class musicians and at 3 October you can enjoy Pyro Games - Fireworks Festival  in Ostragehege .

Dresden is fantastic place for young people and and has a great nightlife. On of most popular places is 'Alter Schlachthof' (Gother Str, 11), original name means Old Sloughterhouse and it is a location for parties, concerts, record fairs and other events. Cultural site an industrial area of Dresden offers a large program of concerts and parties.
