Iceland is one of the most exciting travel destinations this year. Lonely planet named Iceland one of the Top 10 destinations in the world in the category: Value for Money.

The dramatic headlines of the the volcano Eyjafjallajökull this Spring and the infamous Icelandic bank crises got the whole world´s attention. Now in the aftermath of these big dramas, tourists have rediscovered this mysterious fairytale island of Ice and Fire -that suddenly became affordable for the average traveller. Here you´ll find some of Europe’s biggest glaciers together with plenty of volcanic hot springs. Take a bath in a geothermal hot spring and enjoy horseback riding throughout the dramatic landscape on an Icelandic horse.

This August Iceland is proud to present the Reykjavik Jazz Festival August 14-29,2010.

Iceland is well known for producing superb music with entertainers such as internationally acclaimed Björk, Sigur rós, Emiliana Torrini, Quarashi, Múm, Mínus and Gus gus. They have an amazing music culture considering their size and remove location.

At the Reykjavik Jazz Festival you will find Iceland’s choices of jazz music to be a combination of a good collection of international guests like Django Bates, the German big band composer and pianist, Maria Bates, or Don Ranir, one of Los Angeles’ most sought after pianist and arranger, that will play with Iceland’s singer, Geir Olafsson. Another name you might have heard of before is Achim Kaufman from Berlin. Or how about the Icelandic singer, Stina August, a new upcoming star on the Canadian Jazz scene?

A Jazz pass costs only 8000 ISK for 15 days of Jazz!
