Oct 17, 2009 - Location is superb, very easy to find if you follow the directions and the map on this site. Our host was very polite, helpful and kind and gave us all the necessary information. The room was clean and tidy, everything one can need for a couple of days stay. There is a kitchen one can use which is very helpful. We were not there for the fun, so i can not properly judge the fun factor:) We were very tired every evening we got back from our walk and did not have the energy for a night out.
P.S. If you get lost wandering the streets ask for ghetto novo, not the street 'magazzena', because it turned out there are a number of streets by that name:)
Aug 15, 2009 - Everything was ok,I spent my vacation so good.The only one thing that I didn't like is that the first day we had to wait in front of the hostel to enter inside.The staff was so polite and good-prepared.
Jul 27, 2009 - I really enjoyed staying there - Jojo is great; the perfect host as he just leaves you to do your own thing. Plus there are no steps or stairs so its great for anyone with limited mobility. Great location with the best restaurants just around the corner and not very touristy like San Marco etc. Highly recommend it to those travellers who want value for money and no frills type of accommodation. Jan 06, 2009 - We loved Caterina House! We were a little suprised at first, because it really is like staying in someone's apartment but the man who runs it is incredibly helpful and accomodating, the rooms are clean (and one bed is done up with a Helly Kitty bedspread), kitchen can be used for cooking and a decent breakfast available. It is easily walkable from all sites and nice because it is out of the main tourist track. Fabulous!
Nov 05, 2008 - The location was amazing, so close to the train station and the hostel was clean, cosy and well looked after. Breakfast was a bonus, and the use of the kitchen facilities is also great. Jojo was very nice, the only problem we had was having to wait ages to check in. Luckily another guest let us in so we didn't have to wait outside in the cold. All things considered, would stay there again for sure!
Oct 17, 2008 - The place was a big surprise as it is like being at a friend´s house.The house is a low floor with three bedrooms and small kitchen. We would defenetly come back to this hostel. It´s close to nice areas and the train and bus station. everything you need for having a great time and cheaper time in Venice!!!
There is no need to carry sleeping bags as there are lots of sheets and blanquets!!!
