Sep 23, 2009 - I thought this place was great. I stayed there a week and it really was the best place I can think of being. It really is one of the best, nicest hostels I've ever stayed in

Sep 21, 2009 - very funny and original, breakfeast between 8 to 10 very cool ! i recomand

Sep 20, 2009 - The hostel Lum 'n' Abner was a big positive surprise! The breakfast cooked by the captain was excellent, and the hostel was very easy to reach with the free NDSM ferry that ships off the Centraal. In the night time the buses take you quite close to the hostel, if you can only find the place where the buses leave. Taking a cab from the centrum costs 20 e.

Sleeping in the lower deck was really cozy! But those allergic to little disorder should not bother to book in, since this is a ship hostel after all. Felt like home immediately. Excellent for adventurers.

Sep 17, 2009 - it is a great please to rest or sleep after red light visit... BRAVO

Sep 14, 2009 - We were really shocked, when we entered that ship... it's not only that bad area around, what made us feel uncomfortable... it was the whole ship. Our "6-bed-dorm", which we had booked, was in reality a big engine room with sth. about 25 bunk beds which were just seperated with some sheets to mark the different "rooms". That also means, that there were only 2 bathrooms: one for men, one for women. And therefore we paid 26€ per person/night -> rip-off!!!

The only good thing to mention was the breakfast, which was included and all in all kind of delicious.

I just want to admit, that I, although I'm from Germany (I know about that stereotype) do not have any high demands and I'm really used to stay in very cheap hostels...

Sep 14, 2009 - Position was excellent but faced some problem in finding the hotel when i tried to reach the Hotel after 3 AM. Provide some directions to hostel from nearest bus stop also.

Sep 14, 2009 - Not bad, but its location makes it not very convenient for visiting the city. Getting back to the hostel late at night is especially confusing, and the staff could do a much better job by providing maps with specific routes, not just vague directions with quotes like "ask someone where the mtv building is". Anyway the boat itself is pretty cool. Just make sure to bring a lock for the lockers.

Sep 14, 2009 - Original way to sleep in Amsterdam : huge boat and wooden cabin...but bread with moisture at breakfast, and quite far from downtown. Worth a try once :)

Sep 12, 2009 - this was an amazing place with lots and lots of personality, its like something we had never experinced or imagined. The captain and staff were amazing and helpfull. we would go back here anytime :D thanks for everything!!!

Sep 12, 2009 - This was the best hostel we stayed in over our month of travelling. Everyone was so friendly and it felt like staying with family.

Thank you Lum'n abner
