Oct 21, 2009 - Well, this is not the best hostel that I have been, but in regarding with the prices in Amsterdam it is OK. It is a little dirty and the beds are really old.
Oct 18, 2009 - The rooms are clean, but there are absolutely no amenities in the hostel. No internet, no TV, no lounge, no kitchen, no hairdryers, etc. Other hostels I've stayed in had some or all of these.
However, the location is great.
Another complaint - staff may not be there when you need them. So don't expect to get your "key deposit" back in the morning (7-8) when you are required to check out at 10 AM because they won't be in yet.
Sep 15, 2009 - We were sent to some other guest house although we booked the Hotel Tamara.
The other place was dirty, and we had a daily visit of 2 mise who run around our room and gave us a feeling we are in prison.
Definitely the worst choice we could have made this trip.
Sep 14, 2009 - booked 2 rooms for 3 nights for 6 single beds. got just a double and single in each room. the third bed option was to sleep on a matress on the floor. great place if you are intending to party and go to sleep drunk otherwise stay away. good alternatvie to a dorm.

Jul 29, 2009 - Tamara is superb for location (200m or so from Dam Square). It is v basic and more of a hostel than a hotel. Rooms are shoddy (dodgy fittings, paint work etc) but clean.
Separate Toilet and Shower room is one per floor and shared between about 4-6 rooms but we never had any bother when needing to visit one.
Go here with friend to rough it on the chaep but not too impress a first date !!
Jun 30, 2009 - yes it is well situated in the heart of the city and true to what is claimed it is a super budget hotel, though it could be better, and i guess we dont expect luxury from such an hotel, it is an ok place to make a stay for a couple of days

May 25, 2009 - Central, easy going, nice staff and inexpensive!
I had a single room, which was quite small, actually just a bed, a sink and a nice view. If you like it simple and easy, this is a good place to be.
