The owner of the hotel was very friendly and recommended us to a very affordable and good restaurant near the hotel for dinner. The room we stayed in was clean but the sink was faulty. Overall it is a good place to stay.

the location is away from the city center,but close to Metre station,public transportation is necessary,the room is big but a little bit smelly,wifi signal is quite poor,but maybe a good choice if you just wanna sleep for one simple night

The place is very good, confortable, good price. I rested well. But lost some points of attendance, because there's only one receptionist and she disappeared at night and in the morning when I left. If you don't mind that, choose this place!

If you are staying for one night is a good place to crash.the room had not a good heating system so it was really cold.
When you take a shower the washroom turns into a swimming pool.
Internet works just in the break room.
Location: if you go to Venice it will take you 10 min walk to the train station plus 15 more to Venice SL.

The location was good & the staff was helpful somewhat. Also it was bad to see that no cleaning was done on a regualr basis but only after the check out. So this was big negative.

Pros: Location, air conditioning, price, room size, cupboard & shelves.
Cons: Noise from common room went on until well after midnight on Fri and Sat. Bathroom smelled wet. Not a new building. Not for older people.

We were able to walk to the train station to get into Venice. The rooms were clean and artistic.

Nice staff, who felt free to have a chat or to give some hints where to go or have a drink. The private rooms were clean and functionally. Nice common room (including a fridge, but we were missing a kitchen to prepare the meals), with a nice terrace and an canopy. All in all we were very satisfied.

Good Clean option it's a litle bit far from the Center but you can walk to the main train station of Venice Mestre if you are in budget it's a Goob Place!

The staff at the hostel were extremely accommodating after a reservation mix up on my part. We stayed in a five bed dorm that was good sized and clean. There is wifi in the common room, and it's about a 5 minute walk to a bus stop that will take you over to the island. Definitely worth staying on the mainland if you want to save money. I can't say enough about how nice the staff were.

What happened was that we unfortunately forgot the charger for our electric touth brush in the bathroom when we left. The next day when we telephoned them they told us that they had thrown it away so that we had to buy a new one. We think that this is an awful way of dealing with guest belongings and a very inconsiderate and inacceptable attitude towards customers.

Despite credit card payments were on window, the receptionist refused me to perform the payment that way, and add extra "taxes" on the arrival (and no receipt given). So be aware of that

When we came it took 100 years before he could check us in, and there we no smiles at all. The rooms where clean, but a bit small, when you are living 5 people in sucks small rooms! It was easy to get to the center of venice with the bus. But the place it self was despresing

If you want to visit Venice by car, it s worth to consider. You may leave the car in the parking place, take the bus (very close to the hostel), and after 7 minutes you are on place.
Very simple hostel, but not expensive.

Nice place. Nice to meet people. Location is far but it's really just one bus/train away so it's not a problem. The hostel is cheap too. My only problem was that it just had 2 toilets for everyone in the hostel! Long waiting line. But besides that, great hostel!

Staff helpful and waited up for me until 10.30pm when I arrived late.
Information on this hostel re arrival by train should highlight to get out at Maestre station - the stop before the main St Lucia station in central Venice(the reason why I was late!) Also helpful to know it's the Number 6 bus, going to Maghera, that stops closest to the hostel.(leaves from the Central Venice boat area near the St Lucia train station).
MANY mosquitos at this hostel so bring your repellent.

We had a decent room with air conditioning. Private bathroom and shower but no toilet paper provided. Good location to catch the train to Venice and much easier than trying to pull your suitcase around the boats and small streets

the place is easy to reach from train station, easy to get in Venice. Hostel is almost decent. The showers are ok-ish, the rooms are almost clean. he guy working there is very friendly with all the girls. he is not aggressive or anything he is Very Italian. there are sorts of stupid rules,like internet till 10pm only in the commune room, but the guy is friendly enough to be nice and make exceptions.

The directions were a bit confusing but once we found the hostel the staff were really lovely and very helpful. The room was ok, we had a balcony which was good as it was so hot at night we needed to leave the doors open. The beds wernt as comfy as others we'd had but they were ok. The bathroom was clean when we got there but was not cleaned during our stay (of 2 nights). I would stay here again though.

Was good value for the money. Hard to find such cheap hostels around venice. It was no problem finding it from the train station and the trains in to venice went all the time and there were also no problem getting back at night with the night busses.

A pretty decent place, the owner is a nice Italian guy, he likes to joke around a bit, so don't get too put off by him, if he rubs you the wrong way at first. He gave us some free pizza in the common room one of the nights, which was cool. Other than that this place is a bit far from Venice, you have to walk back to the train station in order to catch a 10 min bus ride to Venice. Internet shuts off at midnight and only works in the common room.

Great hostel for backpackers. Resonable price. Staff were friendly. Cleaning lady did a wonderful job!! Our room was a bit crowded(5 beds in a small room with no where to put our belongings) Room was also very warm and stuffy as the windows could not be open due to mosquito's...a fan would have been nice. We enjoyed our stay and do recommend this hostel.

Cheap, budget hotel, but with decent service and free Wi-Fi (in the common room). No breakfast included, supermarket 1 km away. Most importantly good connection with Venice Piazza de Roma (6-7 min by bus)

It's great for backpackers. Bus stop is nearby, ride to Venice island is 15 minutes long. The stuff is friendly and helpfull. Rooms with private bathroom are good, don't know about the rest. There is enough of hot water in the evening, not in the morning. The common terrace is large and pleasant, but is closed at midnight. Good value for money.

Well located hostel, only 10 minutes bus drive to the city of Venice. Wireless internet only works if you are close to the router. The Rooms were confortable and in some of them you have sour own fridge. Good place if you are only looking for a place to sleep while you explore Venice.

the room was a little bit moisty, there was no hot water in the bathroom in the room, only in that one at the end of the corridor.
i arrived at 7.00 AM, but I could check in only after 2:00 PM, and I wasn't let in to the common room for this time, so I had to wander the streets of Mestre completely tired

A good value hostel just a short walk from Mestre train station. Getting to Venise itself is a breeze. My only gripe ...no hot water for my morning shower on one of the three days I was there.

Many reviews of Venice hostels advise you to spend a night in Venice island, well it is OK if you have the cash to do this, but staying at Locanda Belvedere saves a lot of your money.
There are 2 parts to the hostel, main hostel and an appartment a couple of doors away. Firstly the ONLY bad point, it is difficult to find, the instructions don't seem to be correct, you may need to bring a map with you, or use a GPS, it was handily msrked on my Iphone map GPS slready. When you get your bearings it is only 7 or 8 minutes walk from Mestre station.
Well the "lobby" is neat and bright with nice pictures of Venice, the guy on reception speaks English and French and is helpful, he knows the local good eats "Pizzeria Capri" and where the bus stop to Venice is located.
Next, the room, I was allocated a bed in the appartment , it was bright and clean, the bed had a thin fairly (but not too bad) cheap mattress and the room was a little smelly. But you are talking about a hstel, not Venice Hilton. But this is soon alleviated by opening the window for a while.
The common room is nice, with coffee machine, fast WiFi, fridge, sitting place.
The sleep, despite the mattress, was very very peaceful, not a peep at night ! I never quite worked out exactly where the bus stop was for Venice, grrr, but i got there eventually.
In all i thought that Locanda Belvedere was a very nice place to stay for visitors to Venice on a budget.
Yes, the shower and the toilet are 1 and the same, but nearly ALL hostels in Asia are like this.

It was a very good hotel for student-tourismus. It is near the main train station and the bus stop for going to Venice is also pretty close.
