Most rooms still decorated with original frescoes. Rooms with private and with shared bathrooms (exclusively between 2 rooms), some with a pleasant view of Ionian Sea, others benefit from the peace of the large internal courtyard. All with air conditioning, TV Sat, WiFi, coffee and tea making facilities, heating.
Location and surroundings
Only 500 m. from the Train/Bus Station, Busstop AIRPORT 50 m. 600 m. to via Etnea and to the main square of the city, Piazza Duomo. INFO: excursions around the ETNA volcano, Taormina, Siracusa, Palermo, Agrigento, Sightseeing tours, etc. In the surrounding area: pizzerias, trattorias, restaurants, pubs, discos, etc.
Although the surroundings and the way it looks from the outside seemed creepy, inside this hostel is a really beautiful place to stay and pretty close to the heart of Catania. If you don't go with a clear plan of visit of if you have any question just ask the owners!! They're really helpful and always ready to through away any doubt you might have. I really enjoyed my stay and strongly recommened that place!
I have stayed here twice, but only for a night each time, before flying back to England. But, I really like the friendly feel to the place. The bed was very good - firm mattress. There were automatic lights that came on when I walked into the corridor. The building from outside looks shabby (it is an old mansion), but inside all is well kept.
Located 15 mins walk or so from the historic centre (and from the stazione) it was ideal for me.
Nice building, nice location, nice people: just go there!
