A little luxury should be whilst traveling, for it makes it a lot more pleasurable. The Grand Hostel Berlin is characteristically a hostel, with a note of deluxe which goes with it. Here you will find a building with the infrastructure of a hostel und the service benefits of a hotel. Let us begin with something easy, the location: You are not just stepping out in the middle of nowhere, but in Berlin – Kreuzberg – it is the legendary suburb where you will find the most exciting potpourri of people, shops and clubs. Kreuzberg is probably one the most unconventional suburbs of Berlin. Their residences are tolerant, disobedient and the streets are big stages till deep in the night. In Berlin there are no curfews - in the 80’s there was an appropriate hit song titled “Kreuzberger Nächte sind lang” (Kreuzberg nights are long).

The building: You will be living in the former residence of the early Bishop of Berlin! So the apartment house is not a grey block of concrete, but a beautiful villa built in 1877 in the heart of Berlin, 1 Km to Potsdamer Platz and 3 Metro trains virtually in front of the doors. Hostels should be inexpensive – that’s us with prices starting at 17€ - but we offer “Grand Service”: 24 hour reception, free high speed internet (50.000 Kbit / faster than ever) throughout the whole building, washing machines, bike rental, lounge area, a grandiosely breakfast till 2pm in the Bishops Salon, brand new sanitary facilities, an invitation to an afternoon tee, large lockable cupboards, a luggage room, free early check-in and late check-out, many insider information, free map of Berlin, a music and television room, sightseeing tours, we will always have a free minute or two for you and as it should be you will be welcomed from our doorman on the red carpet.
