The Suite Singel - Bed & Breakfast 在 阿姆斯特丹, 荷蘭

Location, location, location. Maybe the best thing about our cozy studio is it’s quiet location right in the city center. We call it the “Suite Singel,” and we hope you will find it a sweet little place to stay while you explore the city of canals.

The Suite Singel is situated at the basement level of our residence home. We’ve lived in Holland for over 10 years (Kerry is from the US and Fabian is Argentinean). We know Amsterdam well and we will be happy to help you find what you are looking for during your stay. The house was built in 1640 and we live in the upper floors. Kerry is a yoga teacher and you are welcome to join a yoga class in the studio on the first floor! We speak English, Spanish, Dutch, and we can squeeze out some Italian and French if needed. After welcoming you and explaining how things work in the studio, we give you the keys and you can enjoy the privacy of your own place in Amsterdam.

We’ve been renting the studio for several years now and we have a good idea of what people like about it. It’s not a huge spacious apartment with sweeping views…it’s a cozy little studio where you will have a quiet night’s sleep after a day out exploring. It’s a simple place—private entrance, two joined single beds that can be separated if needed, shower & toilet, and a small built in table and bench near the ground level window. Natural wooden floors and modern white built-in furniture give this place a very clean, yet warm environment. There is a microwave and a small refrigerator with complementary water and juice. We do provide coffee and tea making facilities, however, we are not able to provide breakfast.

A walk out the door leads you to 17th century Amsterdam--even if it’s raining, it’s a beautiful place to be! And when the sun shines, you can use the two folding lounge chairs (stored under the beds) which you can place under the tree in front of the house and watch the world go by in the canal… We are on the edge of the “Negen Straatjes”, or “9 Little Streets”, which is full of cafés, restaurants, and shops. The Negen Straatjes has quickly become the most modern and hip area of the city…there is more in Amsterdam than just coffee shops and the red light district!

We have been working since the beginning to be as eco-conscious as possible. When we opened the suite we installed energy saving light bulbs and also an energy efficient water heating system. And just so you know…this also means we have only a 15-liter water heater. You have a very hot shower for about 8 minutes, wait another 15 minutes and it’s ready to go again. Our waste also goes through a processing engine before going into the general waste system of Amsterdam. The suite is also heavily insulated so even in the winter we need to only use a very small space heater to effectively heat the entire suite. We also purchase free-trade items such as the teas and coffee that we offer our guests.

It’s only three tram stops away from the central station, and it’s a three minute walk from the tram stop: line number 1, 2, or 5. So you can take a tram or walk to all the famous tourist attractions such as the Flower Market, The Dam, Anne Frank House, Rembrandt and Leidse Squares. Just as easily accessible are the famed museums and countless historical sites that have made Amsterdam what it is. You can enjoy a boat trip on Amsterdam's famous canals ten meters from your front door. Or maybe you prefer to just sit on our front steps on a sunny afternoon and watch the world go by—whatever your idea of enjoyment in Amsterdam is, we believe you will find it here!
