Phoenix is part of an ensemble of listed buildings perfectly situated in the old quarter “Varosha”, just two minutes walk from the buzzing day & night life of the city and convenient for all the interesting sights.

Also, Hostel Phoenix is Officially Recognized by Hostelsclub as Eco-friendly! We have been recycling all our refuse ( plastic, metal, card/paper, glass and compostable materials ) ever since we opened in 2007. The compostable materials go to our own compost heap and back into the garden. We do not use air conditioning ( not necessary as the house was well constructed ( in 1850 ) but, as the house is a ' Monument of Architectural Culture' (a listed historical building) we cannot have solar panels for hot water. Therefore summer hot water is produced by electricity. However winter heating of the house and of water is 100% wood / eco briquette fired (this year we will be using compressed Sunflower husk, a by-product of sunflower oil extraction).
