You can find this Flying Pig right next to Central Station with the Red Lights, the crazy Amsterdam nightlife and the main shopping centre at its doorstep. This location itself says enough; the Downtown hostel is surrounded by non-stop Amsterdam action that is said to be mind blowing!

The hostel is situated in an 18th century building that once gave house to a three star hotel. These days the Downtown location offers backpackers a friendly, outgoing and relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the city’s madness.

Start off your Amsterdam experience in the hostel bar: It is continuously filled with travellers and three times a week local DJ’s come to spin their beats on our hostel-turntables! Go on an adventure in the red light district with its famous windows and numerous pubs and coffee shops. Don’t forget to have a taste of the popular Dutch dance scene and groove the night away!

For the daylight explorers: Cultural spots such as Dam square, the Royal Palace and the Anne Frank house are just around the corner. The outdoor market at Waterlooplein (square) is perfect for bargain shopping and the Rembrandtplein (square) is a great spot to discuss your day with a pint in hand. In the afternoon you can join one of our free walking tours or you can stroll around the Jordaan area. This oldest part of Amsterdam is well known for its tiny houses, canals and cozy restaurants.
