Hotel Metropolis - Viešbutis ** į Kaunas, Lietuva

The history of the hotel goes back to XIX century. The building of the hotel 'Metropolis' testifies about the glorious times. The building contained a hotel and a restaurant back in the year 1899. This building was designed by a great province engineer Nikolajus Andrejevas. There was a hotel with 27 rooms on the second floor. The hotel 'Metropolis' and its restaurant with italian orchestra got the best evaluation from the customers and were considered the best place in the town.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs obtained the building in 1922 and turned it into stock company 'Lietuvos viesbutis'. A new three-storey building arose in S.Daukanto street under the supervision of the company. The building was considered by favorite architect Vladimiras Dubeneckas. The architect transferred all the ideas and features of 'Lithuanian neo baroque' style into the building.

Today the hotel 'Metropolis' is opened for everyone: business travelers, students, tourists, city guests. The location of the hotel, that is in the very heart of the downtown, contributes to the hotel's popularity. The hotel is surrounded by museums, art galleries, theatres, cafes, nights clubs, business and shopping centers. The friendly staff is always ready to do its best to serve the hotel's guests.

There are 74 rooms in the hotel: 6 single, 43 twin, 8 double, 12 triple, 4 quadro and 1 twin (sitting room + bedroom).
