I was disappointed as I had paid a deposit, confirmed my arrival and then they double booked my room and gave it to someone else. The "owner" tried to give me a lessor room but would not discount the price. All this after climbing 5 flights of stuffy stairs and going through 3 locked gates - twice! And my deposit was not returned.
Our hosts were extremely helpful in all aspects important for first time visitors. They were welcoming, friendly, gave great advice, cooked a nice breakfast, and were more than willing to answer our questions about the city as well as Cuban culture. Could not have asked for anything better!
Not the best place we have stayed in, but OK. They did'nt clean the room, or ask if we wanted to, not even the toilette trash, the bin had no top, or even a bag. There were no sheets to cover you with, just a kind of duvey. The breakfast was good, and the location also. There are a lot of stairs to climb, so if your health is not that great, it's probably not the place for you.
