Hostal Plaza Vieja, Apartment in Havana

Not accessible by car, best is to park your car around avenida del puerto and then to walk to THE casa ( parking not for Free). IT is indeed located around plaza vieja but as THE host was not at home when we arrived, iT took us Some time to find THE place, THE host and THE room. If you ask in THE big bar under THE hostal, THE people were not aware About THE hostal existance. There is also no typical hostal signs on THE door. Best is to ask Some locale neighbours (on THE opposite of THE door of THE casa) to call THE host. After Some time, THE host came and everything was fine. IT is a duplex appartement, Room is ok and upstairs, but you have access to THE living room, which gives a very spacious feeling. Really a highlight of THE casa. IT is not a typical casa, THE host does not live here, there is Someone that prepares THE breakfast in THE morning, but for THE rest of THE day nobody is present. THE Casa has a really central location, very beautifull in old havanna. Bathroom big and hot water, no private bathroom. Breakfast was limited, compared to what we are used to in other casas (only Bread and eggs, juice and coffee).

Amazing location on beautiful colonial square. Apartment is spacious and bedrooms are air conditioned (a must). No more than a 5 minute walk from obispo and all other main attractions in old town havana. Tried to push a daily cleaner / cook on us who turned up and let herself in at 7.30am on our first morning in the apartment. Had to politely (but firmly) say that her services weren't needed as this is not why we went for a self catering apartment. That said, Daniel the property manager was extremely helpful and always at hand if needed. So cheap to eat out that we didnt end up using kitchen facilities so not sure I'd recommend s/c apartment over hotel in havana. Especially as costs are similar

Perfect position In Habana Vieja; very friendly staff; decent breakfast available; good clean rooms, communal area and bathroom - and a balcony overlooking Plaza Vieja! Overall, excellent.

Excellent location. Ensuite room very noisy, front door of apartment next to room door, people arriving from flights at all hours, phone ringing constantly. All noises and conversations travel between bathroom and kitchen. Don't prebook the breakfast, it's 5CUC on arrival, it's pretty average but no local cafés open till 10am.
