Hostel Ufo - Hostel i Warszawa, Polen

The UFO Hostel is located in a renovated, pre-war building, on the border of the two most interesting districts of Warsaw – Mokotów and Śródmieście. Grottgera Street was the last street in the southern part of Warsaw that survived World War II. It is a very friendly neighborhood, inspired by the traditions of the Polish intelligence as well as the working class. In close proximity, our guests will find many parks such as Promenada, Morskie Oko and also the Royal Łazienki Park, established in the late XVIII century – very popular among, both locals and tourists.

The UFO Hostel is located about 10 minutes (by bus) away from the City Center, however we do recommend walks, or bike rides. Following the Royal Trail, a historic city route, you can get to both the Center as well as the Old Town (about a 20-30 minute walk), or to Wilanów and the XVII century palace, if you go in the opposite direction. Along the Trail you can admire embassies, a botanical garden, the Ujazdowski Park, the Center of Modern Art(CSW), government buildings (the parliament, the presidential palace) as well as other interesting places the city has to offer, including Finnish wooden huts or an artificial palm tree in the center of the de Gaulle Circle.

The close proximity of the Central Railway Station (about 15 minutes by bus) and the airport (about 30 minutes by bus) makes it easy, both to arrive and depart. The bus stops are just around the corner. Thanks to the great public transportation connections (bus, tram) in our area, it is safe to say that our Hostel has one of the top locations in the city.

Local bars, restaurants and cafés (Regeneracja, Roma, Tibilisi, Café Relax) serve a variety of meals, both menus and prices are varied. There are a few grocery stores in the area, a kiosk and a supermarket in walking distance.

UFO is located at Grottgera 11/2 and it is accessible through an entrance outside the building as well as through a shop that is on the ground floor. What makes the hostel special and unique is precisely the fact that it is connected with an underground store for graffiti and urban art lovers called Not4Toys, where you can buy art supplies as well as street art magazines.

We have two clean and bright rooms (designed for 8 and 4 people) furnished with comfortable beds and basic furniture such as a table, chairs, cupboards, shelves and a coat hanger. There is also a reading lamp next to every bed.

The walls are decorated with graphics and canvases created by talented artists from Warsaw’s modern art circles. The Hostel and the store, both have free Internet access. The guests may also use a public computer.

A big spacious kitchen is fully equipped for preparing your own meals. During the evenings a large table gives the guests a place to interact. It’s perfect space for casual conversations and card or board games. It’s a general rule, that the best parties take place in the kitchen. In addition, coffee, tea, breakfast cereal and milk for each guest are included in the price.

Any valuables may be kept in the office safe. You can receive a free map of the city as well as other materials about all that Warsaw has to offer. For an additional fee the guests may help them selves to some drinks and snacks.

Not4Toys, the store located on the ground floor, has some souvenirs and gadgets created by young interesting artists (some of them are single issues!) in its offer. Postcards, pictures, photographs, graphics and t-shirts are that will remind you of the city, its history and the wonderful people are also available. The synergy makes it easy to meet interesting people, converse, listen to some music and discover something about the city and its inhabitants. The UFO hostel staff is available and ready to help you 24/7. They will advise you what to see and explain how to get to wherever your nightly escapades might take you.
