It's not 'backpacker basic' by any means (the dorms have TV), but it is more about being comfortable and welcoming, and giving travellers a chance to experience a side of Sydney that's far from the tourist brochures and PR spin - ie, a real beach suburb that's still mostly filled with locals. You can also get the key for the isolated Garie Beach YHA, and it's a great place to join others doing the 26km coastal walk in the Royal National Park or to get your surfing skills up to scratch. The hostel is wheelchair accessible.

Check-in Instructions: earliest check-in time is 11am, latest check-out is 10:30am, Reception opens by 8:30am, if arriving before your bed/room is ready (i.e. before 11am) we will store your bags in the office and you can relax in the lounge/kitchen/courtyard. Reception closes at 10pm, however if you give us advance notice we can make arrangements for late arrivals...
