Hotel Haus am Berg is a small, family-owned hotel in one of the most beautiful parts of the Nature Park Bavarian Forest. Unspoilt forests, crystal-clear streams and fresh air still worth breathing - landscapes like the Lamer Winkel are rare. Whilst on holiday in this area, German President Horst Köhler called Lam 'one of the most beautiful areas in Germany'. This fascinating landscape can be enjoyed from our roofed terrace with a wonderful view.

The homely hotel with 16 rooms is located in a very quiet south-facing location in the Lam-Frahels hamlet. Several signposted walking routes pass by the hotel. Built in keeping with local style, Haus am Berg is nevertheless a hotel that offers modern amenities such as wireless Internet and satellite TV.

Service is written with a capital S in our hotel. We believe that hospitality should come straight from the heart and should not be an insincere performance. We are very proud that in 2008 we were chosen as one of the 10 most friendly hotels in Germany. We have also aquired the quality seal Service Quality Germany. This is totally in character with the slogan of our Tip-Top Hotelcooperation: welcome at friends.

Reception is open 7:30 until 22:30, the restaurant every evening except Tuesday. If you have a reservation arriving on a Tuesday we kindly ask that you contact us with your expected arrival time.

In our cosy restaurant, you can enjoy your three course menu, drink or snack. We do not serve typical Bavarian cuisine, so no schnitzel or pork roast, but a light international menu (french, italian, fish, game, etc). We do not offer halfboard in the classical sense, that you have to reserve at time of booking. Every morning (except Tuesdays) you have the choice whether you would like to take part in the three course menu of that evening. In this way, you are fully flexible to plan your stay the way you want it: longer daytrips away, tickets to a venue or a quiet dinner in the hotel!

If you wish, you can enjoy your meal or drinks on the roofed terrace with a beautiful view of the valley.

You can wind down at the end of the day until 23.00 with one of our excellent wines from all around the world.

Simply enjoy a quiet coffee after dinner, read a book or play a game with other guests in our library. Of course, children can find a large selection of childrens' books and games here.

Our brand new sauna is available to our guests for free. Relax after a long day or after skiing!

The whole building is equipped with wireless LAN, all the rooms also have a free LAN-connection. You did not bring your own laptop? No problem, an internetterminal is available in the lobby (of course, free of charge)
