The Sixth Power is a new column dedicated to emerging or established influencers. Each week we give you a new interview with an influencer. This fourteenth edition is dedicated to Cynthia, also know as Turista En Buenos Aires.
HostelsClub's blog is hosting a new column dedicated to influencers, entitled 'The Sixth Power'. We are going to hear what they have to say, listen to their stories and discover their way of life. Many people aspire to be like them, and influencers are one of the latest and most desired professions. Their following, in some cases, exceeds the influence of important political figures! Kourtney Kardashian, with her 72.6 million followers, has more than the number of votes that led Donald Trump to the post of President of the United States of America in 2016. The Italian fashion-influencer Chiara Ferragni, before gaining an incredible 16.9 million followers on Instagram, was just an ordinary girl. We'll find out what it is like to be an influencer, giving a voice to travel bloggers in particular. There will be many good tips for those with open ears who may be thinking of entering into this incredible lifestyle!
#14 Cynthia - Turista En Buenos Aires: 'Understand what you have and take care of it'
The world of Chynthia is full of the joyful light of Buenos Aires. A mother, young and cheerful, twenty-eight, profoundly Argentinean - she wishes to clarify - takes us on a journey through images with the eyes of a foreigner in her own home. "I love being a tourist in my city - she tells us - and talk about my discoveries". Following her is like walking right beside her. She draws open the curtain on skyscrapers, colors, reflections and that feeling of freedom that the South of the world gives you. Her profile came from the blog Turista en Buenos Aires, a name that hasn't changed, even when it began to arouse curiosity. She tells us a lot about her city, and about other trips that happen in the meantime. "I think everyone - everywhere in the world - is in their comfort zone and continue to admire what is far away, without really bothering to open their eyes to see what we really have right in front of our noses".

You have a profile dedicated to Buenos Aires.
I try to spread the love for the city in which we live. I love being a tourist in my own city and talking about all the discoveries I make there.
The spirit?
Understand what you have, take care of it and spread it.
How did the idea come about?
There are many people who come from all over the world to visit our city and are fascinated by it, so I thought that by talking about Buenos Aires I would also become enchanted by its charm.
@turistaenbuenosaires
But that goes far beyond the beautiful place where you live.
Of course, I think everyone - everywhere in the world - is in their comfort zone and continue to admire what is far away, without bothering to really open their eyes to see what we really have right in front of our noses.
And social media has really helped you in this regard.
I have always loved photography and then Instagram was the only social network I liked.
As long as the public response was there.
Over time I had to started revealing aspects of my personality and my life to silence rumours about my sex, age, name, etc.
@turistaenbuenosaires
And have you revealed yourself?
Yes, I let the world know that a 28-year-old girl behind this profile, whose name is Cynthia, and who loves photography and exploration. That I am a graphic designer, married, now a mother and deeply connected to Buenos Aires.
On the other hand, you talk about your travels too.
When I travel I don't share everything in real time because otherwise I wouldn't be able to enjoy and appreciate what I'm experiencing. So everything is delayed by about 24 hours. I love to get in tune with new places and with the people who live there.
How do your content ideas come about?
Often the inspiration comes from what I see and I record everything that catches my attention. The magic of framing works wonders too! Other times I am inspired by some of the suggestions from my followers in some of the places I visit.

When did the first job come your way?
The first job proposal came after about a year, from a country very far from mine! An MKT agency paid me to upload a picture of my city with a hashtag. I couldn't believe it! I then discovered that if your passion gives you something back, you can dedicate yourself to it!
Do you have any advice for those who are just setting out?
Never sell your credibility. If you wouldn't reccomed doing something, don't do it for money either.
And then?
Don't wait for job offers to arrive by themselves. Look for them. Write to brands you think can work with you and talk to them.

It is often said that some cities are dissapointing when you visit them, having only seen them in photos. Has this ever happened to you?
Paris! It was my dream, so I had a lot of expectations. There I learned that it's better to let the place surprise you in its details.
HostelsClub promotes the hostel culture - do you stay in hostels on your travels?
Thanks to my instagram profile I found of the most beautiful hostels in Buenos Aires. I smile when I think back to that weekend because, on that occasion, I made some important friendships that are still going today. The atmosphere in the common areas and chatting to strangers who share a passion for travel are some of the best things that can ever happen to you when you stay in a hostel. It's the spirit of sharing in its purest form.
This section will be translated into the main languages among the 26 of our blog. If you are an influencer you want to tell us your story then write to us, we will evaluate your proposal and perhaps The Sixth Power will talk about you!
