The best travel series to travel the world with the help of the remote control and your sofa.

Travel series have a unique purpose: to incite you to travel, to discover the world through a screen in order to, in the best of cases, realize the beautiful planet earth on which we live. This time we want to open your eyes through six beautiful travel series to watch on Netflix that will really make you rethink many aspects of your life. These series mix history, nature, mystery, food and fearlessness. Without further ado, we present you some of the best Netflix series to travel from the comfort of your home.

Dark Tourist

"Dark Tourist" is a mysterious series that deals with the morbid side of travel. Basically we talk about thanatotourism, a phenomenon of travelers looking for places or cities in which death is the main protagonist or unusual or macabre places in which there are ghosts or murders. Each episode deals with a different place from the previous one, for example, on one occasion they visit Kazakhstan and dive into a lake that had a nuclear explosion in the past. Of course, everything ends up going very wrong. You will see…

Somebody Feed Phil

"Somebody Feed Phil" recounts the adventure of a friendly traveller who seeks to try exotic foods in different parts of the world. What a dream, right? A life travelling and eating - what a pleasure! The character's name is Phil Rosenthal, he visits cities like Buenos Aires, Mexico City or Lisbon, tasting the typical gastronomy of each region. One of the best travel series out there to enjoy if you are a glutton capable of withstanding temptations. The series is composed of two seasons of twelve episodes each. You will devour them!

Pedal the World

A globetrotter, a bicycle and many destinations. Can you imagine it? The cover image on Netflix is already quite suggestive but we will tell you a little more. It is the story of Felix Starck, a brave young man driven by curiosity who sets out to pedal the world with his unbeatable travel companion: his bicycle. 18,000 kilometers, 22 countries and 365 days, the numbers that you must understand to witness a journey where nostalgia, desire and challenges intermingle to finish watching this sociocultural documentary in tears.

Andes Mágicos

Andes Mágicos (Magical Andes) - The name of this documentary series on the nature of the world says it all: the magic of the most extensive and surprising mountain range in the world: the Andes Mountains. In case you are not aware, we will briefly tell you what all this is about. The Andes is a chain of mountains that is located in South America, goes from Colombia to Argentina. In fact, one of the highest peaks on the planet is located here and it is Aconcagua with 6962 meters above sea level. In short, this docuseries tells the story of six people and their deep connection with the majestic group of mountains.

Paul Hollywood's Big Continental Road Trip

Now we cross the pond to know this travel series that is available on Netflix. A season of three episodes is enough to publicize the adventure of chef Paul Hollywood in Europe. A walk through Germany, France and Italy to discover the passions of the chef for food, motor racing and the spectacular settings around the old continent.

Expedition Happiness

A selfie taken by a young couple with a background landscape that looks like something out of a movie. What does that sound like? Exactly, to another travel documentary to watch on Netflix. Here we cheated a bit since it is not a series but we do swear that this production is worth playing. Felix Starck (yes, the “Pedal the World” guy) and Mogli take a trip with their dog across North America, traveling in some kind of custom motorhome in the best vintage wanderlust style (google this as it's hard to explain ). Both will decide to leave their wealthy life in Berlin to undertake a trip to the United States for which they will be accompanied by cameras and drones that give the cinematic touch to this great travel documentary on Netflix.

We've reached the end now but yes, we know. There are many more travel series to watch on the internet. Do you have any we forgot? Send us a message on Instagram (@hostelsclub) to recommend more travel series or movies! We will share them.
