Singapore: a 'garden city' waiting to surprise you!

Visit Singapore and discover it's marvelous twist and turns!

Singapore is an energetic cosmopolitan city with positive energy, best represented by how much the nation has progressed in such a short time since its independence from England in 1965. It is an ideal tourist destination thanks to the warm tropical weather and hosts an exciting array of notable events that the country has to offer all year round.

Harmoniously fusing the old with the modern, Singapore is an architectural and cultural heaven. Ethnic quarters of the colonial times are a must to visit. Don't forget to visit Arab Street, Chinatown and Little India.

The quality of the hostels in Singapore is as high as you may expect, one of the newest is the Adler Hostel, in one of the best areas of the city. Managed by a young staff, it has the perfect atmosphere for international backpackers, with its great looking rooms and high quality common areas with lots of services (and most of them are free!).

If you’re into the modern cosmopolitan lifestyle, head down to the Marina Bay area. You will be thrilled by the diversity that this area has to offer! The Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, Fullerton Hotel, The Merlion, City Hall, St Andrew Cathedral and the Raffles Hotel. Singapore is also known to be a “garden city” with a great deal of effort put into combining the city with nature.

Visit the Singapore Botanical Gardens and make sure to pop by the National Orchid Garden and be dazzled by the nation’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim.

Singaporean people LOVE to eat. You have to try Hainanese Chicken Rice, Satay, Laksa, Char Kway Teow, Fried Prawn Noodles and the legendary Chili Crab. Moreover, Singapore has a craze for snacks too! For example, Popiah, Rojak, Curry Puff, Egg Tart, Kaya Toasts, Beancurd and these are only the tip of iceberg. If the local dishes aren’t your cup of tea, there are many international selections to choose from.

When night comes the party has just begun, head over to Clarke Quay where a cluster of Singapore’s hottest nightclubs are based, also, face your fears with reverse bungee while visiting the area.

Once you are done with visiting places of interests it is time to shop till you drop at Singapore’s shopping strip, Orchard Road. Singapore is a wonderful city to visit while traveling around South East Asia, and also has one of Asia’s busiest airports. It has a good domestic transportation system, modern amenities, and travelers from around the world are always amazed by what this “little red dot” has to offer.
