Malta has mostly rocky terrain without much vegetation. However during the months of March through September this changes and the island gets a greener scenery. Besides the rocky image you can also find small sand bays where you can have a swim and relax in the sun. Malta is known for its beautiful underwater life and thus a good place to do some snorkling. In addition, you can even swim with dolphins! For the land-lover, trekking or walking on the island is a good alternative.

Amazing architecture (big)

Malta has an ancient history which is still visible in the architecture, cuisine and the language. The cuisine has Spanish and Southern Italian influence as found in typical dishes such as Stuffat tal-Qarnit (Slow braised Octopus) or Klamari Mimli fl-inbid (Red wine braised stuffed calamari). The official spoken languages in Malta are English and Maltese. Maltese is a semitic language, which is dated back from the very early ages like Arabic and Hebrew.
