While some like travelling to more classic destinations for Easter, like Europeans capitals or transoceanic cities, other prefer hitting more unusual destinations instead, to discover new places, less popular but which actually exists and are worth a visit.

We thought about 8 unusual travel destinations for Eastern this year and included some very much sought destinations and popular, and some still under the radar; we hope you find the right inspiration for your next trip … which doesn't have necessarily to be for Easter eh!

LIVERPOOL – UK

London is definitely the most visited cities in the UK but there are more destinations like Bristol, Manchester that are conveniently served by some of the major low coast air companies, but only a few travellers visit them. Have you for instance ever been to Liverpool?

WHAT TO SEE IN LIVERPOOL

The Tate Gallery, Great Britain's biggest contemporary art gallery is worth to be mentioned as well as The Beatles Story and the pub where they used to play!

Crosby Beach

A 20-min train ride from city centre, on Crosby Beach, you can admire an art installation by Antony Gormley, consisting of more than 100 iron statues, scattered along 2 km of beach. It's a metaphor of immigration, a must see.

COFFS HARBOUR – AUSTRALIA

You don't know it, do you? It is in fact not among the most popular Australian travel destinations, but we suggest it as an alternative to the Sydney or Melbourne, as it is an unusual travel spot and that's what this article is about.

WHAT TO DO IN COFFS HARBOUR

First, that's where you can visit the Solitary Islands Marine Park, a natural park where to observe different types of animals living free in their natural environment.

Mutton Bird Island, is also another natural reserve where to do birdwatching and where the short-tailed shearwater nests.

To do whale watching, you need to come back and visit it between August and November.

WROCLAW – POLAND

As an alternative to Warsaw, why don't you check Wroclaw out? Somehow it might remind you about Cracow, but every city is unique, and don't let what seems to be an unknown destination hold you back… or maybe the Polish name Wroclaw rings the bell?

KUTA – INDONESIA

Indonesia is more than just Bali, there are in fact many more cities, such as Kuta, which is situated on the same island but further South.

That's the perfect spot for surfers and to enjoy sunsets on the beach, largely known as Sunset Beach.

It is also worth to visit the Memorial Monument built in memory of the bombing deaths in 2002.

MENDOZA – ARGENTINA

If you are into mountaineering, that's the right place for you, since this city is located on the Andes. It's also known as the "Land of Sun and Good Wine".

The city is rich in parks, and a trip to General San Martin Park is a must for the view over the city from the top.

Don't forget to plan a visit to the natural wonder of Puente del Inca, which is the results of natural depots of salt from the river Las Cuevas.

TAUPO – NEW ZEALAND

Named after the local lake, it is the real local attraction, being the lake the biggest in all New Zealand.

On the North Eastern side of the lake, you can find the so-called Maori Rock, a Maori style relief dating back to 1970, created by Matahi Whakataka-Brightwell; rumours say it protects the local communities from the underground volcanic activity, the lakes has, in fact, volcanic origins.

Close to Taupo, you will find the famous Huka Falls, wonderful waterfalls called by the Maori community “Hukanui” which means “great body of spray", in the Natural Park of Tongariro.

DENVER – USA

Situated in the state of Colorado, extremely famous for its mountains, that's where you can explore the Rocky Mountains, ideal if you like hiking; if you instead are more into museums and parks, Denver is popular for its urban parks, for the Botanic Garden and for the Museum of Natural History, for the Science Museum and for the Art Museum.

WHAT TO SEE IN JAIPUR

There are so many things to see in Jaipur, but this is what we suggest you visit: the old city, the Pink City, popular for its spices and for the fabric shops, and for the spectacular palace of Hawamahal.
