Are you still looking for valid reasons to visit one of the most beautiful islands in Greece? Here they are

Cyprus, would you ever think about going there one day? Yes, for sure it is not on the top on the list of destinations that you usually think, but this island has so much to give and a long story to tell. The Venetians, during their long period of success, were the owners and their signs are well visible on the island ... do you want to know why you should go there? Here are the 5 reasons that will make you want to visit Cyprus!

1. Its beaches

You can not count the finest beaches in Cyprus even with the all fingers of two hands! We can mention some of them, such as Nissi Beach in Agia Napia, Fig Tree Bay (especially if you are a snorkling lover) or even Petra Tou Romiou's beach, where, according to the legend, Aphrodite would be born.

2. Its food and its wine

Despite the British influence left the mark in the classic English breakfast, Cyprus has a lot of typical dishes that we recommend you to taste. Starting from Haloumi, a goat or sheep cheese that is served hot, grilled, but there is also the classic Tzatziki, which you will surely know, a savory yougurt, enriched with cucumbers and garlic.

To have a look at meat dishes, we find the Souvlakia, lamb, pork and chicken skewers, or the Dolmades, vine leaves, stewed with meat and rice.

Insalata greca

Do not forget, then, to enjoy an excellent and classic Greek salad!

3. Its architecture and the Venetian mold

In Cyprus you will have tons of choice on things to see, both on a natural and historical-cultural level. We want to recommend you the Kykkos Monastery, the Tombs of Kings to the northwest of the island, a beautiful necropolis, but if you jump to Fermagosta, you will see the walls built by the Venetians, with the iconic San Marco lion.

4. Very low cost prices

Cyprus, like most of the Greek islands, is really cheap. With 20 euros you can eat a fish meal in a nice restaurant, with about 20 euros per person you can rent an apartment in Larnaca, for example.

You can see other cheap accommodation in Cyprus here.

5. The kindness of the Cypriots

Last but not least reason, is the welcoming spirit of the Cypriots. Perhaps it is due to the different domination in the past or this characteristic is typical of the inhabitants of this island, no matter what, the fact is that here you will never feel like a tourist, the Cypriots are extremely kind. You will feel at home!
