Street Arts around the world
Many cities around the world are distinguished by their Street Art. Think of it as free, open-air museums. Street Art is a form of communication, expressing the ways in which we are born and live differently. Every artist tries to express his personal ideas through the murals. Whether or not you agree with this practice, you cannot help but appreciate the beauty and originality of the works that you see on the street.
Why not tour these Street Art cities of the world in order to appreciate it more fully? Where possible, we also recommend a themed hostel!
BERLIN
Berlin is famous for its murals, especially those found on what remains of the Berlin Wall. Nowadays, street art has spread across the city and can be found from Kreuzberg to Friedrichshain.
A hostel with graffiti in Berlin? The HostelXBerger.
DUBLIN
In Dublin there are defined areas of the city, each with varied graffiti. We suggest making a visit to Temple Bar, before moving on to the city port. Don't forget to include Camden Street in your tour.

LONDON
You could easily lose yourself in the Street Art of London. In particular we suggest going to Camden Town, a neighbourhood famous for its street art extravaganzas, as well as for its street food.
WARSAW
We have already chosen Warsaw as a destination for a weekend, and talked about the street art in this city, especially in the subway dell'Armia Ludowa, home to several murals.
If you are looking for the location of an art hostel in Warsaw we have it: the Warsaw Downtown Hostel, with a blackboard where you can create your own art!
VALENCIA
Spanish street art is called 'art callajero'. To see the best, go to the Barrio del Carmen and then just follow your nose. As well as looking at the art work on the building walls, don't miss all the other things to do in Valencia.

SAO PAULO
In the district of Vila Madalena, Sao Paulo, there is a whole area that encompasses the work of street artists. Believe us when we tell you that you will not know where to look when you visit Beco do Batman!
An Art Hostel in Sao Paulo? Yes, there's even one with a beautiful blackboard on the ceiling: We Hostel Design.
MELBOURNE
Known as one of the mural capitals of the world, Melbourne deserves a mention as the city where you will fall in love with Street Art. If you want to see it, you are spoilt for choice. Here are just some of the places where you can find murals: Russell Place, Flinders Court, AC/DC Lane, Duckboard Place and Union Lane. If you've never thought to visit Melbourne, there are 5 good reasons to go.
LISBON
In Lisbon, Street Art is very much appreciated, so the artists are paid to create open-air museums of Street Art, doing murals to fill the walls of abandoned buildings. Even if you are thinking of going to Lisbon just for a weekend, try not to miss it!
Our recommendation for a graffiti hostel here: Go Hostel Lisbon
CAPE TOWN
In Cape Town, similarly, street artists have not failed to express their thoughts with their spray cans, especially in the Woodstock area. We recommend you go there equipped, of course, with a camera.
At the Atlantic Point Backpacker, there are small areas of graffiti in the rooms.
LOS ANGELES
The Street Art in Los Angeles is distributed around different parts of the city, but one of the best places to visit is the DTLA Arts District in downtown Los Angeles.
SANTIAGO, CHILE
Brazil and Yungay, two neighbourhoods in Santiago, Chile, have not often been included in traditional tourist tours, but now there are organized walking tours to guide you around the different works of street art to be found in the city.
Is there a hotel with murals in Santiago de Chile? Of course - it's the Atacama Hostel.
BALI
Old Man's, a bar in the Canggu area, has become a focal meeting place for all artists (and surfers) who enjoy street art. If you drop by, you will see a different side of Bali. You can find the graffiti in the photo in the Kuta area.
BUENOS AIRES
In addition to everything else to do in Buenos Aires, there is also the Street Art. There are no restrictions - everyone can paint anywhere. All you need is the consent of the wall's owner!
A hostel with graffiti: Buenos Aires Art Factory Palermo.
BOGOTA
The history of Street Art in Bogota is closely linked with protest against drug dealing, paramilitary action and violence. The situation changed following the death of a street performer at the hands of the police, although you can still find murals with cheerful, bright colours as well as works with a strong and raw meaning.
Graffiti on the walls? Do not miss the Summer C.
ROME
Free museums, low cost places to eat, curious things ... we have written before about Rome. But we think we should repeat what we said about the city's street art. The roads themselves are museums: there are 150 streets full of art works and Tourism of Rome offers a free map to visit them at their best.
In Rome we did not find hostels with graffiti, so we advise you instead to stay near Termini station.
