Incheon is a port city in the West coast of Korea, but will one day be a developed city of the future with it's eco-friendly plans and ubiquitous technologu. Incheon will host the Global Fair & Festival 2009, where a gathering of renound institutions and global corporations discuss important issues related to urbanization. The event will run for eighty days from August 7 to October 25, 2009. Under the theme, 'Lightening Tomorrow,' the Global Fair & Festival will be a comprehensive event celebrating the city and will act as a place where these institutions and corporations meet to conduct business and network. It will consist of conferences focusing on urban development, exhibitions, a wine festival, and a World Culture Street expected to attract more than five million visitors.
What is there to see at the Global Fair & Festival 2009? It will consist of individual and joint pavilions each with an authentic sub-theme related to future city development. Each corporation or institution will participate in the form of an exhibition with contents displaying the evolution of cities, the future direction in which cities are headed, and contemporary city trends. Exhibitions will also showcase various urban cultures, high-tech products, environment friendly alternatives to everyday urban life, and promotional opportunities for all participants.
