Join Stockholm Jazz fest in July, try island-hopping in the archipelagoes, Stockholm is like no other place in Europe in the summertime.

Stockholm Jazz fest July 15-19 offers great artists this summer like Lauren Hill, Abdullah Ibrahim, Odd job and many more. The festival takes place on a charming green island outside the Museum of Modern Art, just 10 minutes walk from Down Town Stockholm. You will find yourself in another world, looking out over the water and the glittering lights, with a jazzy soundtrack in your ear. The ticket price varies from 50 E a day, and entrance for the enire 5 day festival is around 200 Euro. For that you get jazz and blues from afternoon til midnight. Stockholm Jazzfestival is one of Stockholm´s biggest events and well known in the world not just for the fine selections of musiciens but also for it´s unique and beautiful location -the island of Skeppsholm

At the large festival area overlooking the sea Mälaren, you will find 3 stages, a good selection of International as well as Swedish food and drinks. A good opportunity to make new local friends who share the same interest as you -good music.

July is also considered to be the best time to visit Sweden, with warm and dry climate. This is the vacation month in Sweden, so you will experience a very relaxed Stockholm, free from stress and the usual crowds on the streets and in the subways. Stroll around the many outdoors cafés and restaurants that pop up on the sidewalks during these few precious summer months.

This time of year it´s also warm enough to swim in the sea. It´s higly recommended to do at least one daytrip to the stunning archipelago of Stockholm that consists of approximately 24 000 islands and islets. Just a few minutes down the road from the festival area departs the boats that can take you to many of them: The Islands Utö, Sandhamn, Grinda, Svartsö are some of the most popular ones, and populated all year around. Get an Island Hopper card for 420 SEK (about 40 E) and go as you please for 5 full days!

Grinda is known as the playa-Island. It´s the nearset island of those who has good beaches and cliffs to take a swim from. Grinda also have a very good restaurant Grinda Wärdshus. Utö is a bit further away, about 3 H, but perfect to stay over night, here you can bike aroung the island., visit farms, forests, and a beautiful white sandy beach. In the summer. There is also some nightlife with DJ, dancing, drinking and the obligatory after party Hot Dog Stand. Utö is a popular harbour for people sailing arond the coastline. Another historical island for sailors is Sandhamn, which also make it a good partyplace in the summer. But here it´s more expensive, this is a popular hang out for the jet set of Stockholm, where many have or know someone who have a summerhouse. The desolate landscape in this outer part of the archeplago is especially enchanting this time of year.
