Itinerary: First day: We Depart from Marrakech at 7:00 am by modern, air conditioned minibus and travel across the Atlas mountains to reach the desert region. A visit to the Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a stop off at Ouarzazate and then continue on to our destination of Zagora. Later in the day, we see our arrival at Zagora, a desert town providing us with access to the Dunes. Our desert camp at Erg Chegaga, for the night gets closer as we enjoy a one and a half hour camel ride at sunset through the dunes. Arriving at the desert camp, we enjoy a traditional Berber dinner by the fireside, spend the evening socialising with other guests and swapping stories with the Nomads and sleep under the stars or in Berber tents. Second day: Enjoying views of the morning sunrise, we take a Camel ride to return to Zagora. We then rejoin our transport for our travel across the Atlas mountains for our return journey to Marrakech, stopping at various sites of interest along the Route. arriving at around 17:00 or 18:00hrs What is included: Modern air conditioned Minibus transportation Driver Official government approved English, French, Spanish, German speaking Guide with you every day to explain the desert and talk about the culture and the history. Houssine, Atlas Mountain guide, originally from a Berber area, he worked as a muleteer for a long time with individuals and groups. In 2000 he graduated from the “Royal Moroccan Federation of Skiing of and Mountaineering based in Oukaimeden. In addition to his experience and knowledge in the Atlas Mountain, this diploma qualified him as a Mountain Guide, able to organize trips of all kinds around the Kingdom of Morocco for walkers & non-walkers. Houssine aims to introduce his own Berber culture to his customers as an old culture in the North Africa. The large diversity of his products will satisfy travellers in spite of their different tastes and interests. |
