Kirjeldus: Day 1 - Leaving Edinburgh, we head east into Fife to visit stunning coastline, quirky fishing villages and a walking tour of St Andrews. Full of Scottish history and the home of golf! In the afternoon we head into Perthshire to Comrie Croft, a 4 star hostel and our home for the next 2 nights.

Day 2 – Today we visit Stirling to hear all about William Wallace. The real Scottish hero, not Mel Gibson! We visit The Famous Grouse experience, a distillery tour with a difference and some lochs and castles along the way.

Day 3 - We start the day at Bannockburn to hear about another great Scot, Robert the Bruce. Then striking north to Killiekrankie to learn about the Jacobites followed by an afternoon of Nessie Hunting! Our home for the next 2 nights is the Old Station Masters house perched on the banks of stunning Loch Carron.

Day 4 - This morning we make our way over to the mystical Isle of Skye for a full and active day with lots of walks and time to take in the magic. You'll see the Cuillin Mountains, the Old Man of Storr (an incredible Jurassic pillar) and hear some amazing legends, visit the fascinating Kilt Rock, and take in absolutely awe-inspiring panoramas in the Quirang. Perfect preparation for a few wee drams in the local pub, to reflect on a day of tales and legends.

Day 5 - We spend the morning with Neil the fisherman who will take us out on Loch Carron with the chance to see some seals or dolphins. Next we visit Eilean Donan Castle (where Highlander was filmed) and then head south down the Great Glen. We'll stop in breathtaking Glencoe to hear about the massacre of Clan MacDonald and do a fantastic walk. Tonight is spent in Oban. A lively fishing town on the west coast.

Day 6 - Visit stunning Kilmartin Glen with it's rich history, castles and standing stones. A chance to try some world famous Loch Fyne oysters and sit on the 'bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond'! The tour will arrive back in Edinburgh for approx. 18:30.

What to bring

Just to give you an idea, there’s a short list below.

Sense of humour! Towel, camera, decent shoes that you can walk in, waterproofs, swimsuit, lunch & beer money.

**Sleeping bags are not required as bedding is provided**

Kitty system

The kitty is a cash payment made on the morning of tour departure which saves you money. By traveling as a group we are able to get discounts at hostels etc. which we can then pass directly onto you. It is a one off payment and will cover the following;

1. Hostel accommodation on the tour

2. Breakfasts (help yourself continental style – cereals/breads/spreads/fruit etc)

3. Evening meals (we cook together in a group coordinated by your driver-guide)

4. Boat trips.

We do not schedule many stops that involve an entrance fee. For those that we do, the kitty will cover it as we believe these are the unmissable parts of your tour. We run flexible tours which means we can make the most of special events such as Highland Games and can adapt for wet weather. The itinerary may change to include something extra that requires an entrance fee. In these circumstances it’s up to yourself to pay the entrance fee if you would like to go in.

For the 6 Day Monster Castle Tour the kitty is £115 per person. This is compulsory and is in addition to the tour price.

Departure & return point

All of our tours depart from and return to our office. They leave at 8.30am so check in is at 8.15am. The kitty money is also collected at this point. We arrive back from tour around 6.30pm. Airport pickups can be organised but make sure you give us as much details as you can when booking.
