Description: Cappadocia A land created by the interaction of natural and human forces over vast spans of time, Cappadocia is unique to Turkey and should be visited. The peaks of three volcanos - Erciyes, Hasan and Melendez Daglari - dominate Cappadocia. It was their eruptions some three millions years ago, covering the former plateau of Goreme in ashes and mud, that provided the region`s raw material: tuff. This soft stone, formed by compressed volcanic ash, has been worked on ever since by process of erosion to form the valleys and curious fairy chimney rock formations for which the region is so famous. Goreme, Urgup, Ihlara Valley, the underground city, Uchisar and Kervansaray are the highlights of the huge region. Night bus to Cappadocia (Bus ride takes about 1o hours) Arrive in Cappadocia in the morning. Transfer to your hotel. DAY 1. FAIRY CHIMNEY & GOREME MUSEUM TOUR Depart from your hotel to visit Devrent Valley to see the unique fairy-chimneys. Drive to paşabağ (Monk's Valley) to see the most interesting mushroom-shaped pinnacles.Drive to the city of Avanos for lunch.In the afternoon visit another beautiful open air museum at Göreme where the remains of rock-cut churches and Christian settlements date back hundreds of years.Lastly,before returning to your hotel, visit the natural castles at Uçhisar. Overnight stay in a cave hotel. DAY 2. ROSE VALLEY & KAYMAKLI UNDERGROUND CITY TOUR After breakfast depart from your hotel to visit Red valley,and explore the famous rock- cut churches and hike 5 km through the Güllüdere valley. Then visit Çavuşin village.This village is famous for the houses and churches of the Christian clegymen. Drive to the pigeon valley for lunch. In the afternoon visit Kaymaklı underground city. Where early christians lived in fear and faith. On the way back visit the natural castles at Ortahisar. At the end of the second day tour transfer to bus station, take night bus back to Istanbul.
